Assistant Head Coach
A former 3-sport star (football, baseball and track & field) born in Houston, TX, raised in Beaumont, TX has been coaching with Lightning Spikes since 2013. He is an graduate of the University of Houston and has earned a graduate degree from the University of Texas. He competed in track & field for seven years as a sprinter and hurdler. His successes, as well as his challenges, in sports have taught him how to persevere and to have faith in God and himself when the opposition seems insurmountable. He perceives the science, strategies, and psychology of sprinting and hurdling as an ongoing learning process. He is extremely passionate about two things: 1) mentoring our youth and 2) track & field. He is a USATF Level I Certified Coach and has completed USATF SafeSport training.
Hurdles & Jumps
A native of St. Ann, Jamaica has been a coach with Lightning Spikes since 2015. He is a 1997 graduate of Auburn University where he received BS and MA degrees. He competed for Auburn University Track and Field from 1993 to 1995 in the decathlon, high jump, 110m hurdles, 400m, 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay and was also named team captain. He began his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant while attending Auburn University. He competed for Team Jamaica on numerous occasions and has held the Jamaican National Record in the decathlon from 1993 to 1997. He is currently pursuing USATF Level I certification.
Sprints & Relays
A former certified personal trainer has been a coach with Lightning Spikes since 2014 and has 8 years coaching experience. He attended Neptune Sr. High School in Neptune, NJ and graduated from Lincoln University (PA). He competed as a sprinter for 12 years from the youth level through college and was a 4-time NCAA Division III All-American in Track & Field. He is a USATF Level I Certified Coach, a NFHS Certified Interscholastic Coach; and, has completed USATF SafeSport training.
A former 3-sport star (point guard, wrestler, and third baseman) from Long Island, NY has been a jumps coach with Lightning Spikes for 5 years and has been a part of the LSTC family since the inaugural season in 2008. He has coached two Grayson Athletic Association youth basketball teams to championships and is a current Grayson HS Track & Field board member. He is a USATF Level I Certified coach and has completed USATF SafeSport training.
Middle Distance & Sprints
Has coached with Lightning Spikes for 8 years. He attended Gardendale High School in Gardendale, Alabama where he was first introduced to Track and Field as a Freshman. He was State Champion his Junior and Senior year in the 100M, 200M, 400M, and 4x400 Meter Relay, respectively. In his junior year he earned National High School All-American in the 200M with a 21.35. He is a 3-time NCAA Division I All-American at the University of Alabama.
